What Does A Pre-Purchase Inspection Entail?

We recommend that you bring your vehicle in to our shop for a pre-purchase inspection if you are thinking about buying a used car. We can then confirm that the vehicle is a good purchase. We understand that dealers certify used cars, but it’s important to keep in mind that the dealer also wants to sell the car. As such, the initial inspection may not have been that thorough.

A Check for Unseen Damage

Our pre-purchase inspections include checking for unreported damage from an automobile accident. People often avoid reporting accidents in order to save money on insurance. They will pay for the vehicle to be repaired. We can inspect the car’s body to determine if it has been in an accident.

An Assessment of Fire Damage

We can also inspect the body to check if it has caught fire. We will inspect the vehicle for any fire damage and also check the electrical system to ensure it is not at risk. You don’t want your car to catch fire. If there is a problem with the electrical system, this opens you up to the possibility of a fire risk.

A Check for Water Damage

Floods can also cause automobile damage. We will inspect your used vehicle for flood damage. You may consider purchasing a different vehicle if the automobile has been involved in an accident, been damaged by fire, or been flooded. These three events can cause residual side effects.

An Extensive Vehicle Inspection

To ensure that everything works as it should, it is important to perform a thorough vehicle inspection. It includes checking the engine and testing all systems. This includes checking all accessories and components. To ensure that the vehicle is in perfect condition, we will inspect it from the roof up to the bottom of its tires. We want to make sure you get plenty of years out of the used car.

A Diagnostic Test

To find hidden problems with the engine, we recommend running a diagnostic test. The diagnostic test will retrieve any error codes from the system sensors. This will allow us to either give the vehicle a clean bill or alert us to problems. In fact, we recommend that you have a diagnostic test done every couple of years just to make sure that you don’t have any hidden problems with your automobile.
