Jimmy Harris Memorial Automotive Scholarship
Purpose: to further the career of an aspiring automotive technician in honor of Jimmy Harris, a great mechanic, business owner, community member, husband and father.
Harris Garage is proud to offer this scholarship in memory of Jimmy Harris. During his lifetime, Jimmy always went above and beyond to help those in need.
As a proud neighbor in Hayes and Gloucester, Jimmy became a community icon. He touched the lives of so many people, whether it was helping a family get their vehicle back on the road, coaching ball with children, or hosting guests in his RV at NASCAR races and the beach.
Jimmy Harris was an owner of Harris Garage, our family-owned business originated by his father and currently owned by his son, Michael.
In loving memory, Harris Garage seeks to continue his legacy by offering aspiring young people the opportunity to further their education in the automotive field.
Bright, young people are sorely needed in our industry, yet there are not a lot of scholarship opportunities available for those interested. Harris Garage is changing that.
By working with the Gloucester High School automotive program, Harris Garage offers talented, ambitious mechanics an opportunity to continue their education.
